Headquartered in the U.S., the company employs more than 2,000 full-time construction professionals with several thousand more on a project basis. Our client is active designing and building everything from schools, healthcare facilities, and office buildings to retail centers, industrial facilities, and government installations. Its customers range from Fortune 100 to some of the fastest growing companies in America. Recently, the organization began a keystone relationship with a global technology company. A confidential venture, our client is constructing numerous multi-site facilities across several states. As such, the company needs a savvy, highly professional leader to direct and oversee all related safety programs.

The senior safety leader will manage and improve an expanding safety program, while overseeing more than a dozen site safety professionals. This person must be action and solutions oriented, somebody who is enthusiastic and hands-on. The individual will also be a prominent ambassador to this technology company, interfacing with and reporting to the customer on a regular basis. It must be a leader who combines boardroom gravitas with a programmatic approach and tactical influence in the field.


  • Administer and champion existing safety and health programs.
  • Make good decisions and perform at a high level in dynamic conditions and situations.
  • Conduct regular physical inspections of projects located in multiple states.
  • Operate effectively at the detail and big picture levels simultaneously.
  • Offer fact-based, data-based suggestions which lead to measurable, continuous improvement of the EH&S program.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, potential clients, subcontractors and workers across all levels of the organization / project complex.
  • OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer – Construction.
  • Serve as a multi-project Safety Committee Chair, coordinating EH&S efforts and assisting project team members with safety related issues across the complex.
  • Serve as Chair or committee member on other ad hoc committees / teams as needed.
  • Review (and participate as necessary in) accident / incident investigations. Ensure investigations are conducted using professional techniques with causation theory and corrective actions clearly identified.
  • Prepare and present EH&S-related reports as needed.
  • Serve as liaison to external regulating agencies, compliance officers and client representatives as needed.
  • Perform other safety-related duties as assigned.


  • Minimum ten (10) year career as a safety professional with appropriately increasing responsibilities.
  • Construction related work a must; exposure to general / special industry work a plus.
  • Professional standing (CSP or equivalent) or qualify to obtain same within three years of employment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • United States citizen.
  • Able to obtain security clearances as needed.
  • Able to climb ladders, scaffolds, stairs.
  • Able to work outside in various and sometimes extreme conditions.
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
