A European, privately-held, global investment firm recently retained TRANSEARCH to find a Vice President of Engineering and Architecture. The Vice President oversees the physical structures of iconic real estate investment properties across five major US cities. The executive reports directly to the President of the group and manages building operations and capital improvements. With greater than a $20M annual budget, the role’s focus includes enhancing the aesthetics, energy efficiency, and long-term sustainability at properties. Detailed technical knowledge of construction engineering (MEP, Structural, Civil for high-rise buildings), building operations management and leadership skills are required for success in this position. Another crucial element of success is the ability to establish and maintain the owner's vision for these Class A, iconic, high-rise properties. Without question, the cultural fit with the organization was an important aspect of the selection process. Also, it was deemed essential that the winning candidate must have excellent communication skills across multiple mediums, because of the international dimensions of the company.
