TRANSEARCH International’s Director of Research, Cristina Franzoni, was invited to participate in an AESC panel discussion about attracting and retaining diverse talent at executive search firms. This panel took place during AESC's Chicago Researchers' & Associates Forum in October 2016. AESC is the Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants.

Given Cristina's experience with new hires in the Chicago office, her comments specifically highlighted attracting and retaining millennials and best practices when integrating new junior hires onto project teams. Overall, the AESC Forum focused on many aspects for researchers and recruiters to successfully source and recruit top talent.

A European, privately-held, global investment firm recently retained TRANSEARCH to find a Vice President of Engineering and Architecture. The Vice President oversees the physical structures of iconic real estate investment properties across five major US cities. The executive reports directly to the President of the group and manages building operations and capital improvements. With greater than a $20M annual budget, the role’s focus includes enhancing the aesthetics, energy efficiency, and long-term sustainability at properties.

One of Engineering News-Record’s top contractors retained TRANSEARCH to recruit and hire one of its most senior corporate executives. The new Executive Vice President (EVP) would oversee more than $5 billion in top line revenue. Areas of oversight and focus included company and business strategy, risk management, and operating improvements such as safety, sales, talent management, and top and bottom line growth.

Your business turnaround is underway…

  • You have defined the problem.
  • You are working on the plan.
  • Now, you need the right people who are capable and want to implement the plan.

In every turnaround I worked on, the “wrong people” were let go, quickly but fairly and with dignity. In truth, they were below “B” players and should have been let go years earlier. They were the people who just did not get it. They were people who could not implement the plan. And they were the people who did not want to implement the plan.
